Pitch Adjust is not just another site about club music. Pitch Adjust is
designed both for "clubbers and for "professionals" with the common
factor, great music. While Pitch Adjust is based in Stockholm, Sweden, our main concern is to keep an international view on the music we all love.
Pitch Adjust has contributors in cities around the world, including
London, Brussels, Stockholm and New York. This diversity makes Pitch
Adjust a resource for the latest music news from all over the world.
Pitch Adjust also serves as a forum where labels can find new talents,
new talents can find a label, promoters can post information about their
clubs or events, and everyone can buy music or search the base for
interesting events in your city.
Pitch Adjust is all this and a lot more.
History
The idea for Pitch Adjust started in 1995 when founder, Patrik Sjerén,
took a break from his music making and needed to find a new creative
outlet. Having already discovered the power of the Internet and learning
html, the idea in the back of his mind was to create a site where DJs
and artists could present themselves to promoters in order to be
discovered and land more gigs. Originally, the page was called The DJ
Source and was a part of Patrik's umbrella site, BlurredDot.com.
In 1999 Patrik moved from the south of Sweden to Stockholm to start work
as a web designer for the Commotion Management owned firm Webfabriken
AB. Commotion also owned the record label Reactive Music who had a big
interest in creating something hot for the music market and discussions
began in late 99. In early 2000 the work begun when it came to creating
something smarter and more solid than the old "DJ Source", and Pitch
Adjust was born.
Today
After leaving Reactive Music in 2002, Patrik has been keeping Pitch
Adjust alive by himself, aided by the 15 or so much valued external
writers from around the globe.
When you read this text, Pitch Adjust has made it to version 4.0 and it
has never felt better. We have now included a subscription service to
our site. Something that will benefit you as a reader in the form of
better and more exclusive content and deeper views into the different
aspects of club music.
The Future
We have many future plans for improving the site. For those of you who
are familiar with the old Pitch Adjust, you might notice that the
section where you could upload information about yourselves as well as
audio files and pictures is missing. Rest assured, we haven't put this
behind us in any way, we just need some more time developing it so that
you'll not only be able to upload and share, but also sell your tracks
from the Pitch Adjust online marketplace.
More community features are going to be added in the near future. Some
of the new features include a Gallery where designers can upload their
work and get it rated and reviewed by other visitors, an event calendar
where promoters can add their upcoming events and the ShopZone where you
can get the latest Pitch Adjust accessories, new software and much
more.
